On 5th August 2026, a high-level committee meeting was convened at the Committee Room, Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Islamabad. The meeting, chaired by Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives and Inter-Provincial Coordination, reviewed the issues raised by the Honorable Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan during his meeting with the Honorable Prime Minister on 21st July 2026.

The meeting was attended by senior officers of Finance Division, Ministry of Energy - Power Division, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit Baltistan & SAFRON. Mr. Ali Tahir, Secretary KAGB & SAFRON, Mr. Kamran Rehman Khan, Additional Secretary KAGB& SAFRON, and Mr. Sudher Khan Khattak, Joint Secretary, Gilgit-Baltistan Council were also present. Representatives from the Ministry of Climate Change and the Attorney General for Pakistan joined via Zoom. Additional representatives from the Power Division also participated virtually.
